Welcome
A Path to Natural Health

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy a quality of life that is full of happiness and free of disease, yet there are those who need help in order to overcome the obstacles that keep them from reaching true health. It is our commitment to provide our patients with the quality care necessary to realize continuing health and well-being.

From pain to relief of ailments and injuries, Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine are used as a safe and natural compliment or alternative to other therapies. Based on principles developed through generations of observation and collaborative research of the natural world and harmony within life, Chinese Medicine is an effective way to awaken the natural healing capacity of the whole body. As an integrative clinic, we utilize a variety of treatment options, including:
◦ Acupuncture & Moxibustion
◦ Cupping / Gua Sha
◦ Herbal Medicine
◦ Tui Na Massage
◦ Qigong Therapy
◦ Diet Therapy
What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a technique that involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points along the energetic channels of the body. This is often combined with moxibustion, the burning of mugwort, to provide heat at the points. These methods are thousands of years old and still used to great efficacy in hospitals today. Anyone can benefit from the therapeutic effects of acupuncture.

How does it work?

Within the scope of Chinese Medicine, diseases are caused by dysregulation of the qi mechanism in the body. Qi, or vital life-energy, flows through the body in a system of channels. The qi within these channels and related internal organs can become affected in a number of different ways that result in disease. Acupuncture and herbs are used to restore the natural flow of the body's qi to support health.

Does it hurt?

Because acupuncture needles are so thin, insertion is often painless. As a point becomes activated, it is not uncommon to experience a momentary dull ache or other qi sensation. Afterwards, patients usually report feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. For extremely sensitive patients, we also offer non-insertive Japanese style needling.
What are Chinese herbs?

Chinese herbs are all the plant and animal materials that make up the Chinese pharmacoepia. Categorized by function, each herb has a unique character and medicinal effect. Herbs are very clinically effective and can be used in combination with acupuncture or other methods for primary care.

According to the properties of each herb, several different herbs can be combined to make herbal formulas. Formulas are brewed into decoctions that are used to treat general or specific ailments and biomedically defined disorders.

Herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years in China to help resolve disease and maintain balanced health. Herbs are generally quite safe and can be used alongside many conventional western medications. Herbs are also relatively inexpensive and have few negative side-effects.
